Top cow judges named
at All-American
A 4-H team from Berks
County and an FFA team
from Cumberland Valley
High School won top honors
in the third annual Penn
sylvania 4-H and FFA Dairy
Judging Forum held
Tuesday atthe Pennsylvania
All-American Dairy Show in
Harrisburg.
The judging was limited to
persons belonging to 4-H and
Future Fanners of America
organizations in the state.
Contestants are judged on
their evaluations and
decisions in making their
own judging events. The
forum includes a quiz for
contestants on daily herd
management.
In the individual judging
competition, Christine Gitt
of Adams County placed first
in 4-H judging while Kevin
Smoker of Ephrata, won top
FFA honors.
Teams from Lebanon,
Tioga, Washington, and
Crawford Counties placed
second through fifth
respectively in the 4-H
judging. FFA placings and
teams -were: second,
Bradford; third, Oxford;
fourth, Solanco; and fifth,
Ephrata.
