Invitational Youth Dairy
Cattle Judging contest held
Monday, the opening event
of the 14th Annual Penn
sylvania All-American
Dairy Show, taking two
individual and all three team
titles.
Judging began early
Monday morning in the
Farm Show’s main
exhibition hall with 38 teams
competing in 4-H, FFA and
Intercollegiate divisions.
The 4-H and FFA teams had
all previously been declared
their home state cham
pionship teams.

The University of
Maryland captured the in
tercollegiate trophy while
the Maryland 4-H and FFA
teams were wrapping up the
titles in their own divisions.
The University of
Maryland team scored 2017
points to top teams from
Cornell University with 1956
points and the Delaware
Valley College in
Doylestown, Pa., which
scored with 1946 points.
Top individual per
formance in the in
tercollegiate division went to
Jerry Myers, Westminster,
Md., of the victorious
University of Mayland team,

Walter Owens of the
University of Wisconsin at
River Falls finished third
with 680 points.
In addition to Delaware
Valley’s third place fmish,

University was ninth in a
field of 17 teams.
Maryland again captured
the 4-H team trophy this
year, finishing out with 1725
points. Kentucky’s 4-H team
placed second with 1715,
edging out the third place
team from Virginia which
ended the competition with
1712 points.
The only individual to
break the Maryland str
anglehold on the awards was
