5:
A cow in David Brandt’s herd which is simply known as “60,” made the top of the
list in butterfat production, and just missed it for milk production. A 4-year old
Holstein, “60” recently completed a record of 25,196 pounds of milk and 940 of fat. She
had a 3.7 per cent butterfat test. “Vada,” owned by Vincent Wagner, captured the
milk production crown for the month with her record of 25,564 pounds. She had a 3.3
test and produced 845 pounds of butterfat. She recorded the lactation at age 6 years
and 10 months.

Here’s a test for a good
fitting garment. Mrs. Ruth
Ann Wilson, Extension
clothing and textiles
specialist at Penn State,
says that the shoulder seams
and side seams are shaped to
follow body contours and are
good dues to proper fit. The
shoulder seam should follow
the highest line of the
shoulder. Side seams should
appear to fall straight down
the sides of a garment. If
side seams of ttie skirt swing
to the back or front, the body
of the dress doesn’t fit
properly.
