A spokesman at the
Lancaster office of Farm
Credit doesn’t foresee any
problems or significant
interest changes for his
organization. Current rates
are B Vz per cent on mor
tgages underwritten by the
Federal Land Bank, and
eight per cent for short term
loans at Production Credit
Demand for loans is
reported to ber steady at
area banks. Farm Credit
notes a 15 per cent average
growth rate over the last
five-year period. Very few
loans at Farm Credit are
turned down, said a
spokesman for that office.
The basis on which loans are
made include equity, a
man’s ability, personality
and integrity, purpose, and
repayment plans.
