Reporter YORK, Pa. - Rocky Ridge Park was the site of York County Beekeepers annual Summer picnic, which featured a honey show and honey foods contest as the highlights of the afternoon. Judging the honey show was Ralph Gamber, of Dutch Golden Honey, hie., Lan caster. Nedra Baublitz, a home economist from, York, selected the winners of the foods competition. Entries in the show were auctioned off after placing, with the proceeds used toward the cost of the picnic. The beekeepers-will meet next on September 22 at the York County 4-H Center, with Vernon Watts as the guest speaker. Watts, a humorous and educating speaker, will show a slide program, “The Amazing Honeybee.” An exhibit of honey "and related products is planned for the York Fair, Mary Ann Pahick, state honey queen, will appear at the exhibit during the afternoon of Saturday, September 10.
