DALLASTOWN, Pa. - Over
50 4-H and FFA animals
paraded around the show
ring during the Dallastown
Fair’s youth dairy show last
Friday evening. Lancaster
County Guernsey breeder,
Raymond Witmer of Willow
Street, made the selections
for both showing and fitting
competition, as well as the
age classes.
Standing at the top of the
showmanship placings was
Beverly Brown, a 4-H
member from Delta who
owns 10 animals through 4-H
project work. The fitting

Four top winners were
chosen the outstanding in
dividuals in their respective
dairy breeds. Jana Beth
Fantom, nine-year-old
owner of the Brown Swiss
champion, went right to the
top with her first-year 4-H
project heifer. Cathy Ar
nold’s senior yearling Swiss
was named reserve
champion.
Two youthful Guernsey
cattle owners showed their 4-
H heifers to top places in that
breed category. An In
termediate calf of Brian
Lehman’s, York Rll, was
picked champion Guernsey,
with Kelly Blessing,
Wrightsville, finishing in the
reserve slot with her junior
calf.
Red Lion FFA’s Barb
Snyder showed her senior
yearling Jersey to breed
championship honors.
Selected as the reserve
