Owned and bred by Clyde E.
Good, Kimberton, the senior
yearling “Kimberton T.
Domino Carol” had tier first
big win of the show circuit on
Saturday. Her sire' was
Lyrene Top Domino. Six
teen-year-old Clyde is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Good and is a member of the
Tri-Community 4-H Club.
Reserve senior champion
honors went to J. Jeff Welsh,
Exton, and reserve junior
honors went to Lorrie Ann
Duncan, Lincoln University.
Thirteen-year-old Bruce
Heller, 1207 Seeds Lane,
Downingtown, repeated last
year's performance by
winning the grand-champion
Jersey title with “Top-O-Hill
Vedas Miss Grate,” a four
year-old bred by Mildred
Seeds, Downingtown.
Heller’s animal was also the
senior champion at Satur
day’s 4-H competition. He
had a junior yearling which
placed as reserve junior
champion Jersey, as well.
This year’s reserve grand
champion Jersey was owned
by Bruce Andrien, 1562
Shadyside Road, West
Chester. The 15-year-old
Chester Valley 4-H member
showed “Top-O-Hill RH
Miracle,” also bred by
Mildred Seeds. Also named
the reserve senior champion
Jersey of the 4-H show,
Andrien’s aged cow moved
up from last year’s ranking
as second in her class. An
drien’s sister, Denise,
showed the junior champion.
In Milking Shorthorn
competition, Douglas Marsh,
a 14-year-old Chester Valley
4-H Dairy Club member,
brought all the competition,
and went home with three
ribbons to his name. His
senior yearling, “Kingsdale
Precious Rose,” earned the
grand champion and junior
champion banners, and his
two-year-old “Pinesedge
Cherry Dee,” was named
reserve grand champion.
All 4-H’ers earning blue
ribbons at Saturday’s
competition are now eligible
to go onto district com
petition on September 2 at
the Allentown Fair Grounds,
Allentown, Pa.
Type judges for this year’s
county show were: Paul R.
King, Delta and John Stiles,
Westminster, Md. Susan
Seidel, Kutztown, and Peter
Witmer, Willow Street, were
the fitting and showmanship
judges.
