The second place team from
the White Rose County
consists of senior livestock
judges Brenda Walter (first
individual), Tim Beck of
Seven Valleys (sixths),
Harris Wright of Ab
bottstown and Christine
Sunday of York Rl.
Gary Welsh of East Berlin
placed fourth in automotive
skills for junior contestants;
Leonard Greek of Delta was
fourth high individual in the
dairy cattle judging contest;
Paul Knight, Airville was
17th in that most popular
event; and Anita Aungst of
Dillsburg was fifth in the
state in the physical fitness
contest for 15 to 19 year old
girls. The top 20 in physical
fitness contests get to go to a
special sports weekend at
Penn State later this year.
The York County team
placed fifth. Others on the
team were Tom and Greg
Perry of York.
The dairy team placed
fifth in the state, and aside
from the individuals named
in the preceding paragraph,
consisted of James Knight
and Abbe Johnson, both of
Airville.
York County had the third
best flower judging team in
the state. They were Kathy

York County’s horse
judging team was ninth in
the state. It consisted of
Louise Toner, Dallastown;
Kelly Preston, Brogue;
Cindy Lewis, Felton; and
Scott Rauhauser,
Thomasville. All four placed
between 32 and 40 as in
dividuals in a contest which
had 200 entries.

Picking up medals with
theirdemonstrations were
r Linda Brown of LoganviUe
and Lisa Dobrosky of Glen
Rock. Miss Dobrosky spoke
on “A Non-smoker’s Stand,"
while Miss Brown chose food
and nutrition as her topic.
Blue ribbon performances
were presented by Connie
Basta and Becky Bren
neman, both of Glen Rock.
Red ribbons were awarded
to Barbara Kilgore of
Airville, and Joey Welsh of
East Berlin.
Adams County has the
third-best 4-H archery team
in the state. It consists of
Kathy Hall and Lisa Tully,
both from Littlestown;
Chandra Overman of Get
tysburg and Diane Hauser of
Orrtanna. The Entomology
team, consisting of Lori and
Janet Crouse, both from
Gettysburg; Becky Wagner
from Cashtown, and Cmdy
Taylor of East Berlin, also
placed third.
Adams County’s 4-H
Fooderama team was
second in the state with
Becky Piper leading the
way. Nancy Reinhart of
Gettysburg was ninth in
dividual in that event.
Melody -Breighner of Lit
tlestown completed the
