LEESPORT, Pa. --
“Rummer Magic” was the
theme of the Berks County 4-
H fashion review on July 15
when more than 60 par
ticipants modeled their
garments to a full
auditorium at the Berks
Agricultural Center.
The fashion show was a
elimax to a long afternoon of
activities for all the girls, but
for the winners, it signaled
the beginning of
preparations for regional
competition at the Lehigh
Valley Mall in Allentown
held on July 22.
The top winners who were
chosen to attend regionals
were; seniors - Arlene
Crumrine, of Kempton
Community Club; Diane
Evans, Kutztown Com
munity Club; Lynda Hart,
Leesport Club; Karen Kniss,
Oley Valley Knick Knacks;
Christine Vos, Kutztown
Community Club; and
Christine Wolfe, Bern
Boosters 4-H Club.
Juniors going to the
regionals were: Erica
Adams, Leesport Club; Lisa
Spigelmyer, Oley Valley
Knick Knacks; Diane

Internationals roar at Buck

his IH 1066 to first place in
the 12,000 and 9000 pound
super stock categories. He
managed a full pull in the
lighter class, while the sled
stopped him at 267-9 in the
heavyweight category. Tom
Bedgar of Freeland, Md.
took second place in the
12,000 pound class with a pull
of 257-7 from his IH 856. He
finished third in the 9000
pound class. Harry Griest
placed third in the
heavyweight division and
second in the 9000 pound
class, driving an IH 1456.
Another double-winner at
last week’s pulls was Lester
Houck of Kinzers, driving a
machine powered by twin
Dodge engines. He won both
the 9000 pound open and 7000
pound modified classes.
Griest took second place in
the 9000 pound open division,
going for a distance of 270
feet and eight inches.
