include a toll free telephone
number for western Penn
sylvania. Any individual,
newspaper, radio or
television station in (he 814
and 412 area codes can use
the service simply by calling
the toll free number, 800-942-
8084.
The number will provide
information of interest to
western Pennsylvanians and
will include the grain and
hay report, western cattle
and hog prices, livestock and
grain futures, local auction
reports, and other market
information of interest.
Shelhamer said that those
wishing additional market
information could call the
statewide livestock hotline
number at 800-692-7253.
Pig club meets
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa, -
The Elizabethtown pig and
rabbit dub met July 14 at the
home of Barry Heisey,
Elizabethtown. It was
discussed whether the dub
wanted to enter a float in the
Manheim Fair.
There will be a dub picnic
on August 16 at the
Elizabethtown Community
Park, 6 p.m. Members are
asked to bring covered
dishes.
Members are reminded
that the pig roundup will be
August 8 and 9 at the Lan
caster Stockyards, Lan
caster, Pa.
Demonstrations were
given after the meeting on
parts of a pig, how to fit a
pig, and bow to show a pig.
Members were then quizzed
on their knowledge.
