USDA sire summaries for Holstein bulls with $75 or more in predicted dollar difference
are printed in this issue of Lancaster Farming. The data comes from die U.S. Department
of Agriculture. Bulls are ranked by predicted difference for dollars, which is the final
column shown on these lists.
It should be noted, however, that just because a bull is listed here does not mean that
semen from him is available. Check with the bull stud at which a bull is located to find out
whether the bull’s semen is still for sale. The first column aster a bull’s name is the stud
code number, as assigned by the National Association of Animal Breeders. They’re iden

for Md. pork contest
ANNAPOLIS, Md.-The
deadline for entries for the
seventh annual Maryland.
Porkecue Cook-Off is fast
approaching, according to
Rick Baker of the Maryland
Department of Agriculture.
The contest, open to all
residents of Maryland and
the District of Columbia, is a
joint effort by the MDA and
the Maryland Pork
Producers Association
designed to encourage
development of tasty pork
recipes and cooking
methods.
According to Baker, the
cut off date for entries is July
29 and 10 finalists will be
chosen and notified by
August 5. The grand cook-off
