Zion Fire Hall. Society 5 will entertain Lebanon County Societies 11 and 14 as well as Dauphin County Society 4. York Co. Society 26 The Etters, Green Valley Society of Farm Women Group 26 celebrated Flag Day at their June meeting held at the home of Mrs. Ethel Conley, 1761 North View Road, York, Pa. The group heard the reading on tiie making of the first United States flag by Betsy Ross, and also participated in a hymn sing of patriotic songs. During the business meeting led by Mrs. William Hake, it was discussed that the Society will participate in the York County Farm Women’s bake sale to be held today (June 25). Society 26 will man the stand from 12 to 1 p.m. when they will assist in selling. Some of the planned ac tivities of the bake sale will be craft tables held by the various societies and demonstrations of quilting. It was also announced during the meeting that the members of Society 26 will attend the York County Farm Women picnic to be held on July 27 at the 4-H Center in Bair. The next meeting of Society 26 will be held at the home of Mrs. Anna Shoop, Etters Rl, on July 12 at 12:30 p.m. Each member is to bring a chair for the meeting which will be a Summer patio event. Berks Co. Society 1 Members of Berks County Farm Women Society 1 met at the home of Mrs. Emma McLean, Douglassville R 2, for a nutrition program and salad smorgasbord as part of their June meeting. Each of the 18 members attending brought a different salad. The group will be taking a trip to Bucks County on August 25. Eight members attended the 25th anniversary party of Society 2. The annual family picnic will be on August 21 at Levengood’s Grove. The next meeting will be a hot dog roast for the members and their families on July 13 at the home of Mrs. Agnes Moll, Oley Rl, at 7:30 p.m. Dauphin Co. Society 1 The Dauphin County Society of Farm Women Group 1 held their June meeting at the home of Dolly Pickel. Co-hostess for the evening was Joann Pickel. The meeting was con ducted by Bertha Kennedy, president. One item discussed was the family picnic to beheld in July. This picnic will be held at the home of Dorothy Rutt. Every member is to bring a covered dish. Plans for a bake sale are underway. The Group will be setting up a stand at the Colonial Park Plaza on July 1 starting at 2 p.m. The stand will be located in the outside Sears mall.
