OXFORD - Susan Pepple,
a 1977 graduate of Oxford
High School, began her reign
as Chester County Dairy
Princess last Saturday,
when she received the
symbolic tiara and sash
from outgoing Chester
County Dairy Princess Carol
Yeager. Nearly 200 persons
were present to witness the
evening ceremonies, held
here at the Nottingham
School.
The daughter of-Mr. and
Mrs. Shannon Pepple, the 17-
year-old princess makes her
home on one of the largest

Pepple is Chester County dairy princ
dairy fanning operations in
southeastern Pennsylvania,
and she’s actively involved
with the work. Milking some
of the family’s 650 cows is
nothing new to her, and she’ll
be keeping at it for the time
being before charting plans
for college. She owns 15 head
of dairy cattle and claims
that life on the farm is for
her.
The new dairy princess is
also a sports enthusiast,
having played on the hockey,
basketball and softball
teams while in high school.
In addition, she was on the
student council, was a

member of the homecoming
court, and serves as
treasurer of the Oxford 4-H
dairy club. She entered the
dairy princess pageant in
order to have an opportunity
to promote dairy products.
Miss Pepple was one of
five Chester County girls to
vie for the title. She was
chosen as winner of the
pageant by a panel of three

was Denise Andrien, 17, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Bruce Andrien, West
Chester. A Jersey and
Guernsey enthusiast, Miss
Andrien is a perennial
contender for top honors at
local, state and regional
shows. She has her own herd
of cows and is actively in
volved in their management.
