Lancaster County Farm
Women Society 8 met in the
Lutheran Church, Maytown,
on June 18.
The special feature of the
program was given by
Christine Erb, a 4-H am
bassador to Europe. Miss
Erb showed slides taken
during her visits to farm
homes in Holland, Belgium,
Switzerland, Germany,
Russia, France, and Den
mark. She showed artifacts
which she had purchased
along the way.

Society 15 met on June 9 at
Black Rock Retreat for a
covered dish luncheon. Their
guests were county officers
as well as Lancaster County
Societies 3 and 20.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Schneider presented the
featured entertainment with
a demonstration of “Crafts
with Gourds.” Bonnie
Wagner, soloist, also sang

Society 15 has been invited
to be guests of Society 27 at
that group’s meeting at the
Donegal Springs Church on
July 26.
The county picnic will be
held August 3 at the Lan
caster County Park pavillion
Number 3.
The president reported
that she presented a war
bond to a home economics
student at Solanco High
School. A check for $5O was
also given to the local midget
baseball team in the Kirk
wood area.
The Society will have a
food table at the George
Rinehart farm sale on July
22. A food for supper sale will
be held at the July 21
meeting.

Members of Lancaster
County Farm Women
Society 25 took a tour of
White Chimneys after their
June meeting held at the
home of Mrs. Harry Schied,
Lancaster.
The next meeting will be
held on July 9 at 1:30 p.m.
The planned program is
miniature golf at Indian
Springs, and is intended to be
a family fun day.

Mrs. Mildred Zink from
Donegal Mills Plantation
was the featured speaker at
the June 20th meeting of
Lancaster County Farm
Women Society 29. Mrs. Zink
spoke on the three basic
kinds of herbs - culinary,
aromatic, and medicinal.
During the business
meeting, the group voted to
donate $2OO to the S. June
Smith Center. The women
have also been asked to help
out at the Elizabethtown
Fair on September 26.
The next meeting of the
group will be a pig roast at
Musser’s Spring House on
September 19. They will
entertain husbands, Society
17, and county officers.

Lebanon County Farm
Women Society 5 met for a
tour of Wilbur Weik’s store
as part of their June
meeting. Following the walk
through three floors of
furniture, fabrics, carpet
and other home furnishings,
the group met for the
