Carefree cotton
now in
WEST CHESTER - Cotton
is now appearing as one of
the most important fabrics
for summer, according to
information from Gertrude
Dougherty Chester County’s
Extension home economist.
While cotton never really left
the fashion scene, it
disappeared to be blended
with polyester or rayon.
Now that cotton is made so
that it doesn’t wrinkle and is
as easy to care for as any
synthetic, the fashion pen
dulum has swung the other
way. Many customers want
cotton that wrinkles, even
cotton that is prewrinkled.
Cotton is available in
heavier weights, and the
predition is that suiting
weight cotton will return for
wear on hot summer days
when women want a tailored
look with cotton’s breathing
capacity.
On the other side of the
Alumni Choir to sing
at Longwood Gardens
KENNETT SQUARE, Pa.
- The University of Delaware
Alumni Choir will present an
outdoor concert at Longwood
Gardens on Sunday, June 26.
The concert begins at 7 p.m.
in Longwood’s Open Air
Theatre. Seating is available
on a first-come basis to
anyone who pays the regular
admission fee to the gardens.
Later in the evening, there
will be an illuminated water
show in the main fountain
garden.
The University of
Delaware Alumni Choir may
very well be the only such
choir in the United States. It
was founded in October 1973
as an artistic outlet for
singers no longer at the
college level.
