CHICAGO- Youth
education, involvement and
decision-making are prime
elements of a new national 4-
H wildlife conservation
program sponsored by
Atlantic Richfield
Foundation through National
4-H Council.
Objectives of the program
include utilization of
individual and group
projects and practices
contributing to wildlife
conservation; provision of
leadership initiative in
conservation projects;
exploration of career and
educational opportunities in
this and related fields, and
furthering the preservation
of natural resources.
Emphasis will be on youth
involvement in planning and
carrying out innovative
wildlife conservation
projects at state and local
levels. Special grants,
totaling $12,000, are being
offered to selected states
submitting proposals for
model wildlife conservation
programs in 1977.
In addition, in-depth
training in wildlife
conservation will be

The training will emphasize
multiple use concepts of
management and land use,
public policy and economic
aspects of wildlife
conservation. To encourage
participation, a fund has
been established to help
defray expenses of the
participants. 4-H’ers
Earth Survival Festival slated
PHILADELPHIA - The
first annual Earth Survival
Festival will be held here on
July 10 from noon to 5 p.m.
on Independence Mall.
The Earth Survival
Festival will consist of
exhibits and displays to
educate and inform the
public as to the specific
problems facing our
resources and solutions that
are available now.
Participants will include:
Governmental agencies -
Identification and regulation
of energy-resources
problems.
