Compared with the
previous week’s close:
closing prices on slaughter
steers were mostly 25 lower,
some 34 50 lower. Heifers
weak to 25 lower. Cows
closed 50-1.00 higher and
bulls steady.
Four day receipts 19,900 as
compared 17,900 previous
week and 15,700 a year ago.
Marketings were liberal
following the Memorial Day
holiday and fed cattle prices
were bent downward as
carcass prices weakened.
Demand was generally good
but most buying interests,
however, and day-to-day
variations were usually not
severe, although buyers
were rather selective on the
late rounds for load lots
carrying a minimum of
Yield Grade 4. The overall
