Cattle records made LANCASTER - Cattle were brought to Lancaster County auctions in record numbers this week, partially because of the three-day Memorial holiday. By Thursday, Jive consecutive auctions had been held within ten days, each marketing more than 1400 head of cattle. The New Holland Sales Stables posted a run of 1541 head on Thursday, compared to 1472 head the week before. Vintage set an all-time record on Tuesday with 1544 head crossing the scales. Lancaster Stockyards, which set a numbers record just two weeks ago, broke that milestone by auctioning off 1840 head. Peoria Auction Peoria, 111.
