The new contestants were briefed on the dairy princess’ responsibilities and informed of the upcoming activities and events they will be involved with. For two weeks, beginning June 6, the contestants will participate in workshops and clinics to help prepare them for their big day on June 18. The workshops involve nutrition, haircare, and public speaking. They also have the opportunity to participate in modeling, make-up, and skin care clinics. During dairy week they will also be present at the Berkshire Mall for a number of activities such as blitter making and a fashion show. .June 4.1977—135 This year the pageant has eight entrants. They include: Suzanne Clay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Landis, Myerstown. Sue is a senior at Tulpehocken High School and plans to attend Shippensburg State College in the Fall. Martha Herbert, daughter of Mrs. Glva Herbert, and the late Paul Herbert, Kutztown Rl. Martha is a graduate of Kutztown Area High School and is presently attending Kutztown State College. Donna Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hoffman, Bernville Rl. Donna attends Tulpehocken High School and plans to attend St. Joseph’s School of nursing. Besides raising Holsteins, her family also raises Brown Swiss. Cindy Howard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leßoy Howard, Oley R 2.
