Ardrossan Farms wins the crown for the latest DHIA
results in Chester County. In fact, they win several
honors. In a most unusual development, the Chester
County Ayrshire dairy farm won the top two spots for both
milk and butterfat production. The butterfat race was tied
between their “CH Brill” and “BET Juno,” at 1003 pounds
each. “Brill” gets a-few extra points, however, for win
ning the milk production crown as well, with 24,441
pounds, compared to 23,660 for her herdmate. “Brill”
started her 305-day lactation at age 11-8, while the second
place cow is just seven years old. The well-known Ayr
shire breeders placed two other cows in the top rankings,
while the balance of the list is made up of Holstein
records.
