Based on April 1 intentions acreage of potatoes, barley and tobacco are expected to show no change. Expected 1977 acreage and change from 1976 are as follows: com planted, 1615,000 acres, up one per cent; oats planted, 402,000 acres, up three per cent; soybeans planted, 48,000 acres, up nine per cent; aill hay for harvest, 1,980,000 acres, up one per cent; barley planted, 165,000 acres, no change; tobacco Horse club holds meeting LANCASTER, Pa. - The monthly meeting of the 4-H Boots and Saddles club was held at the Lancaster Farm and Home Center, recently. Volunteers gave reports on the 4-H Expo held at Park City shopping mall. Sandy Hamilton gave a report on the club’s used tack sale. Lashon Bussell reminded the group about the County Council meeting to be held at the Buck Heights skating rink on April 20. Members were encouraged to buy tickets and attend the meeting. A weekend trail ride beginning on April 30 and running to May 1 will be held at the Valley Lea riding club. For directions, contact Rose Fellenbaum or Polly Bussell.
