" vice president; Clifford Martin, reporter; and Brian Wise, sentinel, in the pul
speaking contest, Dan Witwer - New Holland's only entry in the competition -
first place with his speech, entitled “The Invisible Enemy.” It concerned it;
with the growing world hunger problem.
Winners in the Lancaster County FFA public speaking contest were, left to
right, and in the order of placing, David Witwer, Garden Spot; Janie Peiffer,
Penn Manor; Sam Long, Soianco; and Dolores Nolt, Garden Spot. The contest
had 10 entrants and was held Wednesday afternoon at the Willow Street Vo-
Tech School. Fifth place in public speaking went to Donna Bender of the Cloister
FFA Chapter. All five will be represented in a regional contest to be held at
Brownstown Vo-Tech School this coming Wednesday.
