mended that a plastic
squeeze bottle of water be
carried in a shirt pocket to
flush the eyes immediately,

50,000 “Nick Chides" peaked at 90% with Vz% monthly mortality. Egg size is excellent.
Another 90,000 bird H & ft flock has been reported peaking over 90%. 12,000 ‘‘Nick
Chicks” produced 291 eggs per hen housed to 82 weeks of age.
FROM THE SOI
Producer reports 21,623 H & N's have produced 197.7 eggs/HH on 3.75# feed/dzn. to
63 weeks of age. Shaver birds of the same age on the same farm have produced only
185.5 eggs/HH on 3.97# feed/dzn.
FROM THE EAST
76 week old H & N’s have produced 270 eggs per hen housed on 3.63# feed per dozen
eggs. Total lay house mortality has been only 5.8%.
WEST COAST
32 week old H & N flock reported laying 91.3%. This is the 4th week over 91%.
Another flock reported laying 90.5% at 27 weeks of age. Flock of IS week old pullets
reported with 2% mortality to date.
CANADA
Producer reports 23,888 H & N's broke with MG at 83% production, but still produced
284.7 eggs/HH to 83 weeks of age. Feed conversion for the entire cycle was 3.89# and
mortality averaged .47% per month.
Organization reports undergrades from H & N’s far lower than any other breed they
have seen. Below are actual current grade outs from “Nick Chicks."
