County Farmers’
Association held their first
annual Spring meeting on
March 31 at Avalong farms,
with about 70 members
attending.

Development for Pfizer
Genetics Inc.,
headquartered here.
Troyer comes to Pfizer
Genetics with a wealth of
'esearch knowledge and
experience. He holds a B.S.
degree in agronomy from
Purdue University,an M.S.
degree in plant breeding and
botany from the University
of Illinois and a Ph.D. in
plant breeding and genetics
from the University of
Minnesota.
Troyer is a member of
numerous scientific
associations including the
American Association for
the Advancement of Science,
the American Society of
Agronomy and several

problems which have arisen
within the state coverage
area. In order to assure
continued service to the
membership, PFA is in the
process of establishing a
brokerage agency. Area
meetings were being
scheduled to explain the
changeover to county
delegates.
Thompson
honorary and scientific
fraternities. He is also the
author of numerous
scientific papers.
At Pfizer Genetics, Troyer
will have responsibility for
directing and coordinating
all plant breeding research
for all product lines
including com, soybeans and
sorghum. He will also direct
a recently expanded Quality
Assurance Program. Dr.
Troyer will direct the
activities of permanent
research facilities in
Minnesota, lowa, Illinois,
Indiana, Nebraska,
California and Hawaii.
Additional field research
activities will cover all
additional major corn,
soybean and sorghum
producing states.
Troyer’s research
interests are centered on
breeding methods, selection
for earliness and disease
resistance.
