Round bale mover
Hesston Corporation has
announced another new
product for handling large
round bales. The Hesston
Model 5100 bale mover' is a
two-wheeled trailer that
picks up and moves bales
one at a time.
When the trailer is backed
against the bale, two lift
arms, each fitted with a pair
of “star/ wheels, engage the
ends of the bale. A hydraulic
cylinder then lifts the bale.
In transport position, weight
of the bsde is centered over
the trailer axle, permitting
small horsepower tractors to
haul bales weighing up to
1500 pounds.
To unload, you simply
lower the lift arms and drive
straight ahead. The mover
returns the bale to its
original storage position,
eliminating secondary
spoilage spots where hay
contacts the ground.
A hydraulic power pack,
operated by any 12-volt
electrical system is
available, so the Hesston
5100 Mover can be used
behind a pickup truck or
other vehicle with a trailer
hitch. Maximum hitch
weight is only 150 lbs. The
5100 Mover can'handld bales
up to 6 feet in diameter and
5% feet. long.
BIRDREPELLER
Newly redesigned Av-
Alarms are now available
for repelling birds and
certain other animals.
Although mostly used in
agricultural pest control
(grapes, sweet com, fruit,
nuts, feedlots, fish farms,
etc.), equipment is also
applicable for wildlife
protection (oil spills and
toxic ponds) and certain
industries. Redesign has
simplified operation and
further added to reliability.
One model is self-contained
with its own loudspeaker for
coverage of up to 10 acres
and more. The larger model
will power four speakers in
switched pairs for coverage
of up to 40 acres and more.
Av-Alarm operation is
fully automatic from a 12
volt storage battery. A

During typical operation, a
sound is produced for 8-12
seconds followed by a one to
two minute silent period.
There are four different
sounds There are four dif

changes increase repelling
effectiveness.
Av-Alarm sounds are very
loud so as to get distance.
The sounds are well within
the human range. Although
probably too noisy for most
urban use, special speaker
placements and
arrangements can often
reduce noise levels to
tolerable levels in cases
where farm lands are being
encroached upon by
residences.
