The award presentations took place during the recent annual Trail favored HARRISBURG - Rep. Noah W. Wenger, R- Lancaster, has announced that a measure to save the historic and scenic Ap palachian Trail has been sent to the floor of the House from committee. Winger said the bill was overwhelmingly voted out of the House Conservation Committee with an im portant change made from the. original legislation. The Lancaster County Republican, a member of the Conservation Committee, said he prepared and in troduced the amendment to House Bill 3 to insure land acquired by the state to preserve the pathway does not infringe on valuable acreage of designated far mland. Wenger said the Federal Government will match the amount of money the State decides to spend to save the trail from land developers and private land owners who are currently buying real estate adjacent to the 200- year old path.
