Reporter SHREWSBURY, Pa.- York County 4-H Baby Beef Club members, parents, and friends filled the Shrewsbury Fire Hall to overflowing for the annual awards banquet last Saturday night. A dash of unexpected excitement was added just as the program began when the fire alarm sent firemen, who had been helping in the kitchen, rushing to trucks to give assistance at the scene of a nearby automobile accident. Baby Beef Club President Tim Beck performed master of ceremony duties for the recognition program. This year’s annual Citation Award for contributions to the baby beef program went to Helen and Ralph Dixon, York Rll. The Dixons have served as organizational leaders of the Highmount 4-H Club, and Ralph is currently serving a three-year term on the 4-H Center Board of Directors. Together, the Dixons are active promoters of Angus cattle and have started their own breeding herd.
