emergencies - warm. The
offices for the president and
the fire chief will be modest.
The building is designed as a
command and disaster
center - but without luxury.
Number 2 fuel oil will run the
fire engines as well as heat
the firehouse. The furnace is
convertible to gas-hot air.
Solar energy was considered
but rejected based on costs
at this time. The building
will enable the fire company
to give the greatest
protection possible to the
businesses and families of
the Willow Street area at the
lowest possible cost - with
full consideration to the use
of energy,” said Haverstick.
