The Chapter presented honorary membership degrees to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hummel; Mr. and Mrs. George Ludwig Jr.; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Zimmerman Sr.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Noss; and Mr. and Mrs. Sebastian Graupp. Brief addresses were made throughout the program by fellow FFA members and Dr. Walter Rohrbach, who is retiring as superintendent. Rohrbach told the FFA members how fortunate they are and how he is looking forward to getting out in the fresh air once again. Comments were also given by Harvey Smith and Lester Gelsinger, Adult Farmer president. National Foundation Awards were bestowed by Rodney Mack to Leon Stauffer for soil and water management; Bob Lebo, fish and wildlife management; and Norman Manbeck, agriculture mechanics and crop production. Sandy Effert, FFA ad visor, awarded the following; Salesmanship, Lancsater Farming, Saturday, March 5,1977 — George Ludwig; Top Citrus Fruit Salemen, Bruce Ludwig, first; Ron Wanner, second; and Ray Noss, third. Also honored was Norman Manbeck for dairy production; Bruce Ludwig, ag processing; Todd Lynn, poultry production; Donald Feeg, diversified livestock production; George Ludwig, swine production; Ronald Wanner, ornamental hor ticulture; David Stump, placement in agriculture production; and Ernest Gelsinger, farm safety. Keystone Farmer Awards were also given to Ray Zimmerman, Art Noss, Bruce Ludwig, and Norman Manbeck. Scholarship Awards were presented to Todd Lynn, ninth grade; Donald Feeg, tenth grade; Bob Lebo, twelth grade. After the FFA awards, Leveme Barrett presented awards to Adult Farmers. Leading members in the Seed Corn Contest was Harold Heck with 157.89 bushels per acre. Second place went to Dennis Sat tazahn with 157.83 bushel per acre. In third place was Robert Myer and in fourth was Donald Duncan. In the Cost per Bushel Division, Dennis Sattazahn placed first with a cost of 81 cents per bushel; Harold Heck was second with 93 cents per bushel; Donald Duncan was third with 95 cents. Lester Gelsinger received the honors by placing first the Quality Division with Oscar Manbeck second. Attendance awards were given to Oscar Manbeck, first, for attending all 15 of the Adult Farmer meetings. Second place was Allen Gaul who attended 14 meetings; tied for third were Harold Heck and Walter Augsberger. William James of Farm Credit Association, presented the Outstanding Fanner Award for the area to Ralph Troutman, a dairy farmer. After the presentation of awards the program was concluded with a movie entitled “FFA Stars Over America.” Agway drivers’ safety noted LEESPORT, Pa. - Awards for completing a year or more of driving without a preventable accident were presented to 67 Agway drivers from the Leesport area at a dinner last month at Lincoln Restaurant, here. About two-thirds of Agway’s regular drivers who are eligible for awards are being recognized for safe driving records of one to 32 years. Agway drivers covered more than 57 million miles during 1976, operating vehicles from small service vans to tractor - trailers. Agway’s accident rate is 8.4 accidents per million miles, compared with the national average of 12.1 accidents per million miles, for all fleets reporting such statistics to the National Safety Council. Awards were presented by Agway area manager Raymond A. Cochran and petroleum district manager F. Donald Stas. Richard Resig, safety director of Syracuse, N.
