Ten members were present to accept Mrs. John Blatt as a new member. The Society is planning to have a men’s night on March 25 to be held at the Tulpehocken UCC Church. Merritt Freeman is scheduled as the speaker for the evening. Lancaster Co, Society 3 The Lancaster County Society of Farm Women 3 met on February 19 at the home of Mrs. Alice Trum baurer, Pleasant View Drive, Ephrata. The business session was conducted by the president, Mrs. John Edwards. Mrs. Elizabeth Hess and Mr*. Barbara Wenger will serve at the snack bar of the Ephrata Community Hospital. Members servo as volunteers at the snack bar the fourth Wednesday of each month. A contribution of $5OO was given to the Radio-Thon sponsored by the Ephrata Radio Station to raise funds for the new Ephrata Recreation Center. The program of the day was a safety meeting con ducted by Fire Chief Donald Stauffer from the Denver Fire Company. He spoke on fire safety in the home and answered questions on the most effective type of fire extinguishers for home use. March 16 will be sewing day for the Cancer Society of Lancaster County. Sewing will be taken charge of by Mrs. Eileen Miller and will be held at the St. Johns Lutheran Church, Brickerville, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The next meeting will be held at the Salem Lutheran Church, Ephrata. Mrs. Harry Usner will be the hostess. The program will be a demonstration on Ukranian Eggs by Mrs. David Fyuck. She learned the way of life near Denmark in the North, only three miles from the ocean. The meeting was taken charge of by Mrs. Kathryn Heisey, newly elected president of the Society. Anna Mae Eby led in the singing. Twenty-eight members attended. Lillian Eby reported that seven members had been to the County Home in December. Mrs. Agnes Houseal and Margaret Heisey gave a condensed report of ac tivities at the state Con vention. Society 8 has received an invitation to be entertained by Society 20, at Quarryville on April 7. Hostesses providing colorful seasonal refresh ments for the social time were Patsy Warfel, Helen Wivell, Elizabeth Shuman, and Ethel Herr. The next meeting will be held March 19tb., at 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Viola Greider, Mt. Joy Rl. Mrs. Ralph Sensenig, Police woman, will be special speaker. Lancaster Co, Society 12 Lancaster County Farm Women Society 12 met at the home of Mrs. John Kindig on February 16 for a day of sewing cancer dressings and bed pads. Seven members and one visitor were present After lunch a short business meeting was held with Marian Click, president, presiding. The group reported that the bus is full for the bus trip to the Philadelphia flower show in March. A few members will go to Conestoga View on February 17 to play games with the patients. Society 13 will also help. The next meeting will be held at he home of Fannie M. Witmer, Highville, on March 16 with the program entitled, “Contact.” Lancaster Co. Society 25 The February meeting of the Lancaster County Farm Women Society 25 met at the home of Mrs. David Newswanger of New Dan ville with 18 members at tending. Mrs. Sterli; Elmer, vice president, presided. A report of the Farm Women convention was given by Mrs. Wade Groff. Plans were made to have a rummage sale on April 20 and 21 at the New Danville Fire Hall. The March meeting wilt be at the home of Mrs. Frank Reapsome, Lancaster R 6. on March 12, at 1:30 p.m. The speaker will be Ann Donnelly on nutrition hints for cooking for two. Lancaster Co. Society 31 Farm Women Society 31 of Lancaster County met Monday evening, February 21, at the home of the Society’s president, Mrs. Robert Clark. Devotions were led by Mrs. Charles Smith. A“Come As You Are” party was the theme for the evening, and roll call en tailed telling why you were dressed as you were. Two new members were installed into the Society. They were Mrs. John lioffer and Mrs. Samuel Rhoads. Mrs. James Kreider gave a report of the Farm Women convention at Harrisburg in January. Slides of all the Society 31 meetings since they began in 1970, were shown by the program chairman, Mrs. Tom Aaron. A program on health will be held March 21, 1977 at the home of Mrs. Glenn Wenger. Horse club meets LANCASTER, Pa. - At the most recent meeting of the Boots and Saddles 4-H Club, officers for 1977 were elected with Terry Miller taking over as this year’s president. Lash on Bussell was named vice president and treasurer; Donna Sammons and Sandy Hamilton were elected secretaries; and Deb Myers, Kathy Delmotte, and Sandy Hamilton were named news reporters.
