Nominations for “Eggman of the Year” are now being sought by United Egg Producers, according to A 1 Pope, U.E.P. general manager. 1.71 1.71 A 1.71 Pope said U.E.P. established the “Eggman of the Year” award in 1973 to honor the late Maurice M. Stein, the founding president of the organization. Now the group conducts an annual search for nominees from within the egg industry. “Any currently active egg producer or any egg producer who was active in the egg industry during 1976 who demonstrated leader ship, character, and un selfish devotion to the commercial egg industry is eligible to be nominated for the award,” Pope said. “By laws for the award state that an egg producer can be any independent or contract egg producer, or an owner, partner, officer, or employee of an egg production business.. Nominations must be in writing and received by U.E.P. on or before February 21.” Pope said the primary determination of eligibility is whether or not the individual is closely associated with the egg industry.
