Indicated com to be planted, at 1,615,000 acres, will be increased by one per cent. Oat acreage of 402.000 is up three per cent. Barley intentions remain the same as last year with 165.000 acres to be planted. Expected acreage planted in the U.S. and the changes from 1976 crops are: com, 84.5 million acres, up one half of one per cent; oats, 17.8 million acres, up two per cent; soybeans, 53.1 million acres, up six per cent; upland cotton, 12.8 million acres, up ten per cent; barley, 10.7 million acres, up 15 per cent; and flaxseed, 1.58 million acres, up 51 per cent.
