Kevin Halbleib, age 18, the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Halbleib of Hummelstown,
will receive his Keystone
Farmer Degree at the FFA
Winter forum due to efforts
of supervised work ex
perience. He has won county
honors two years because of
this.
Halbleib served the local
cnapter as treasurer this
year and was assistant
treasurer last year. He
received the farm
mechanics award at the
local banquet last year for
outstanding shop work, and
was on die parliamentary
procedure team in 1975
which placed fifth in state
competition.
He is working on a 200 acre
beef farm which also boards
horses. Halbleib is in charge
of many of the farming
operations.

Mark Bucher, age 17 of
Elizabethtown R 3, is the son
of Mr. and Airs. David
Koser. The newly named
Keystone Fanner has served
the Lower Dauphin FFA
Chapter for two years as
vice-president.
He has. participated in
parliamentary procedure for
three years and in 1975 was
vice president of the fifth
place state team. He also
won county honors for public
speaking. Dairy has been his
main enterprise for which he
received the county dairy
award in 1975. He has shown
hogs and dairy cattle at local
and district shows.
Bucher has sung in the
state chorus for two years
and was selected to sing in
the national chorus this past
November in Kansas City.
At present he is respon
sible for the 34 dairy cows at
home and he plans to begin
dairy farming on his own in
the spring of this year.

Mike Spittle, age 17 son of

Spittle, Middletown, has
served as president of the
Lower Dauphin FFA
Chapter, for two years in
succession.
His FFA activities have
been many. He was on the
chapter parliamentary
procedure team each year,
and was president on the 1975*
team which placed fifth in
state competition. He also
participated in public
speaking his freshman year.

In 1976 Spittle received
honorable mention in the
state farmi mechanics
award. Nationally, he has
participated in the leader
ship training seminar in
Washington last summer
and attended the national
convention in Kansas City,
Mo., this Fall.
Spittle’s projects included
com for grain, hog fattening,
beef growing, and beef
finishing. He has also
carried a work experience
project working on a local
dairy farm.
His future plans include
getting established in a dairy
farming enterprise. -
