—lancaktfer Farming, Saturday, Jan. 8, 1977 130 V'- - FFA’ers receive Robert Zander Robert Zander Solanco High School Robert G. Zander, 17,'is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Carl Zander, Kirkwood El, and is a senior at Solanco High School. His projects consist of a dairy herd of one cow and one heifer, corn, swine, poultry, and sheep. His ewe won the grand championship at two fairs this past season. He has been chairman of the pheasant raising committee and participated in land judging at county and state levels. He has also attended the 1976 National FFA Convention at Kansas City, Mo. After graduation he plans to continue to work in far ming. David Walker Manheim Central High School David Walker is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Walker, Manheim. As a member of the Manheim FFA Chapter and a senior at Manheim Central High School, Walker presently holds the office of chapter chaplain. Walker attended the National FFA Convention in 1975, and received the Foundation Award for placement in Ag. Production in 1974 and 1975. Walker’s projects include swine finishing and work experience. At present he is employed at Hartenstine’s Fabricating Shop, lititz. Dale Martin Manbeim Central High School Dale Martin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy B. Martin, Manheim R 4, will receive his Keystone Farmer degree on January 12. His fanning program consists of six breeding sheep, and he is involved in a work ex perience program with his parents at a nearby market. Martin is active in the Manheim Farm Show, working in the Children’s Barnyard and the float. He also attended the 1975 national FFA convention in Kansas City. His project book has won silver medals in state competition. He is a member of the Gantz Mennonite Church and is active in the youth group. Larry Hershey Larry Hershey , Manheim Central High School Manheim Central’s FFA sentinel is Larry Hershey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hershey, Manehim R 6. His activities have included many local, county, state, and national activities, and he has participated in dairy shows on most .levels. In 1975, he attended the national FFA convention at Kansas City and in 1976 the national leadership training conference at Washington D.C. He also placed high individual in the 1976 county tractor driving contest. He presently is involved in the on-farm work experience program. His projects in clude dairy animals, hogs, steers, and crops. He is also a member of' Congregational Bible Church youth group. ’ Dennis Kulp Dennis Kulp Manheim Central High School Dennis Kulp is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Kulp, Manheim Rl. A member of-the Manheim FFA Chapter and a senior at Manheim Central High School, he holds the office of chapter secretary this year. He previously held the office of reporter. Kulp attended the national FFA leadership training conference this past summer and the national FFA con vention in 1975. He has won gold medals in project'book contests at the county and state levels. Kulp placed fifth in the state meat judging contest in 1975 and 13th in the state dairy judging contest in 1976. As a member of the Manheim FFA Chapter and a senior at Manheim Central High School, Keller is president of the local FFA chapter this year. He previously held the office of treasurer. Keller attended the secretary in 1974-75 and national FFA convention at chaplain in 1973-74.
