Jan. 1, 1977 62 ‘Adventurei in Columbia’ topic of travelogue LITITZ, Pa. - The third in a series of travelogues sponsored by the Lititz Rotary Club “Travel and Adventure” series will be presented Saturday evening, Jan. 15 at 3 and 8 p.m. in the Warwick High School auditorium. “Adventure in Columbia” by Remain Wilhelmsen is one of six in a series of presentations that cover various countries. In the Columbia production the viewer will have an op portunity to visit Columbia through the show. Andean ranges, tiny villages, and dense tropical forests are featured in Wilhelmsen’s presentation. Phone bills increase, on farms HARRISBURG, Pa. - The cost of electricity on Penn sylvania farms stabilized during 1976 but telephone bills increased, according to the Crop Reporting Service. Cost per kilowatt-hour on Pennsylvania farms, at $3.40 in 1976, was the same rate paid in 1975. The average monthly kilowatt-hours used this year is up 12 per cent from last year, raising the average monthly bill from $45.90 during the summer of 1975 to $51.30 this year. The average monthly telephone bill for local service only to Pennsylvania farmers increased eight per cent from last year, while the average total monthly phone bill increased 11 per cent to $16.10. As of last summer, 96 per cent of the Commonwealth’s farms are estimated to have telephones. Only 18,000 farms in the Commonwealth are estimated as using liquid petroleum (L.P.) gas, close to a thousand fewer than last year. The farms with L.P. gas paid an average of 42 cents per gallon in the summer of 1976, an increase of five cents over 1975 prices. U.S. farm electric bills averaged $3.35 per kilowatt hour in 1976, an increase of nine per cent from last year’s $3.07.
