Andrew Stoltzfus’ “Daisy" captured the top spot in both milk and butterfat production for records completed in October. Beginning her lactation at age seven years and fight months, the registered Holstein tallied up a record of 26,583 pounds of milk and 1040 of butterfat. Taking second place in butterfat was Robert Seidel’s “Lola,” which chalked up a record of 23,637 pounds of milk and 1016 of butterfat. The reserve milk production crown went to Eleanor-Siegried’s “Fran," which tipped the scales at 26,096 pounds of milk and 953 of fat. Total red meat production for January-October 1976 was up seven percent from 1975: Beef, was up nine percent; veal down two percent;' pork, up four percent; lamb and mutton, down eleven percent.
