Many business concerns, as well as those working in the educational field, hold meetings and seminars for producers and local citizens. Most of these are very useful and considerable practical information is given. The practices connected with agriculture, home grounds, and gardening are con stantly changing; new methods and materials are being developed. Many of these can be accepted by a Tractor pull assn. in making NEWVILLE, Pa. - A Resentative Group of Pullers who have participated in the 1975 and 1976 Cumberland Valley tractor pulls held on the Newville Community Fair Grounds met Dec. 6, and laid the groundwork for formation of an association. The meeting was held at the Big Spring High School. Presiding was Bruce E. Lemmon, Newburg Rl, who has served as General Chairman for all the pulls throughout the two years. A tentative constitution and by-laws was submitted and reviewed by those present, with alterations and recommendations. An acting board of directors was selected and consisted of Bruce E. TO USE CORRESPONDENCE COURSES Pennsylvanians have a real easy opportunity to leam more about a number of subjects by way of Penn State’s correspondence courses; they are offered in many subject matter areas such as agriculture, family living, and community development. These are lessons that are sent by mail from Penn State at a nominal charge. Thousands of Pennsylvanians have already benefited from this type of informal education; the lessons, can be studied and answered during leisure time, when the student goes about his or her daily work respon sibilities. Their duties will be to prepare for a general membership drive meeting to be held January 3,1977 at the Big Spring Middle Lyceum at 8 p.m. In order to afford im mediate membership in the new association, the acting directors established annual memberhip dues of $lO for regular active members. Consideration was also accorded the future young pullers by creating a junior membership of $5 for all under 16 years of age as of January 1, 1977.
