Although Elwood and Ruth
employ one full-time
hired man and two part-time
helpers at Reu-Hel, farming
is a family affair and then
two daughters have already
distinguished themselves in
dairy show events. Connie,
age 11, has been showing
Holstein cows for only three
years, and this year took the
titles of grand champion
fitter and first place junior
showman at the Kutztown
Fair; master fitter at the
Junior Dairy Show in
Harrisburg; and was named
the Berks Co. Holstein
Association Distinguished
Junior Holstein Girl. Ten
year-old Cathie took her
place in the spotlight this
year as master fitter at the
District 4-H Show in
Allentown.
