Two cows in the Chester County DHIA program - both of
them registered Holsteins - completed records in October
with more than 1000 pounds of butterfat. The champion
butterfat producer for the month was one in Jefferson
Yoder’s herd with a record of 26,255 pounds of milk and a
4.3 per cent test for 1129 pounds of butterfat. Taking
second place for fat - but first in milk - was “Violet,”
owned by Donald Hostetter, Jr. She produced 29,431
pounds of milk, tested 3.6 per cent and had 1050 pounds of
butterfat to her credit.
