CERTIFICATE WINNERS - Dr. Francis C. Stark
(right), provost for the Division of Agricultural and
Life Sciences at the University of Maryland, poses
witlT recipients of the Certificate of Merit Award in
Agriculture at this year’s eleventh annual Maryland
Agricultural Forum, held Nov. 4 on the College Park
campus. Shown are (left to right): Edwin C. Fry of
Chestertown, Wilbert R. Paul of Mount Savage,
Mrs. Raymond F. Armacost, Jr., of Upperco, and
Robert E. Blades of Easton. The first three
honorees are all actively involved in dairy farming,
and one of them - Mr. Paul - is also a state leader in
soil conservation activities. Mr. Blades is an
agribusiness leader associated with the feed and
broiler industries on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Including this year’s quartet, the Certificate of
Merit Award in Agriculture has been bestowed on
215 male and female residents of Maryland during
its 61-year existence.
