IRRIGATION SYSTEM
A new patented Valley
Water and Waste Irrigation
System is being marketed by
Valmont Industries, Inc., of
Valley, Nebr.
The one-tower, towable,
electrically propelled center
pivot is designed to evenly
disperse liquid livestock
manure and supplemental
irrigation water. The system
automatically delivers and
spreads 250 to 500 gpm
evenly.
The new Valley system
can spread all types of
livestock liquid manure,
including hog, beef and dairy
cattle and poultry, on fields
of 10 acres in size. It is ideal
for long, narrow fields
between fences, roads or
land with irregular boun
daries, according to the
manufacturer. The system
can be towed with a tractor
from pivot point to pivot
point. At each point 10 acres
can be covered with either
livestock waste or irrigation
water.
The water and waste
system operates in a circle
around a fixed pivot point
and is capable of spreading
either in a forward or
rearward direction. The
pipeline is supported by an
electrically propelled drive
unit on the outer end. The
system has sprinkler
couplers spaced 8 feet 6
inches along the entire
length of pipeline with three
volume gun outlets. It is
designed to climb a 12 per
cent slope with ndges up to
six inches and a four per cent
slope with six to 12 inch
ridges.

ready, the machine begins to milk and an indicator light goes on to tell the
