BIRD-IN-HAND, Pa. - A ,
purebred Simmental heifer,
“CSV Shirley,” owned by
Beechdale Farms, here, has
completed an undefeated
summer show season by
being selected champion
Simmental heifer at the first
Simmental show ever to be
held at the Indiana State-
Fair. The February 20
heifer, an Achilles daughter,
out of a Galant dam, was a
very popular choice among
the large group of Sim
mental enthusiasts watching
the show. Judge Roger
Hunsley, Purdue University,
described the winner as a
“complete heifer,” ex
tremely feminine in her neck
and head, straight in her
lines, well-balanced and
correct in her skeleton
