Oct. 16, 1976 82 FFA snowmobile show has safety course ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Little Dutchmen FFA Snowmobile Show, to be conducted the weekend of October 22 and 23 at the Lebanon Valley Mall, is a project of the BOAC (Building our American Communities) and safety committees. Committee schedules meeting WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Department of Agriculture Advisory Committee on Regulatory Programs will examine Federal marketing orders at its second meeting on Oc tober 20 and 21. Marketing orders for fruits and vegetables will be studied the first day, and milk marketing orders the second day. The meeting will be held in Room 218 of USDA’s Administration Building in Washington and is open to the public. Meeting set LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The final open board meeting and annual meeting of the 1976 American Angus Auxiliary year will be November 14 and 15 in Louisville, Ky., during the North American Livestock Exposition. The open board meeting will be at 7:30 p.m., on November 14 in the Dolphin Room of the Executive Inn. The annual meeting, a luncheon, will be at 12:30 p.m., November 15 in the ABC Room at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center. Business will be conducted during the open board meeting. The purpose of the annual meeting is en tertainment. At its first meeting on June 8 and 9, the com mittee looked at a wide range of USDA regulatory programs, and selected four program areas for special study. Federal marketing orders are the first on the list. The eight-member com mittee was expanded to nine in early September when the former Secretary'announced second floor of the Ex position Center, to the right of the front entrance. The American Angus Association annual meeting will be in the same building and the Auxiliary meeting will be conducted in time to attend it. As an added safety activity, this year the Pennsylvania safe snowmobiling course for drivers between the ages of 10 to 16 will be offered. The committee consists of producer, processor, con sumer, and government representatives, and is headed by Richard L. Feltner, assistant secretary for marketing and consumer services in USDA. Donald E. Wilkinson, administrator of USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service, is the committee’s executive secretary. Time will be allotted during the meeting for members of the public to present their views on marketing order programs, according to Wilkinson. Written statements may be submitted to the com mittee either before or after the meeting to the address below. The safety course will start on October 22 at 7 p.m. and conclude on Saturday morning. The instructors for the course will be Larry Blauch and Lowell Morton (FFA advisor at Annville). Area snowmobilers in terested in taking the Pennsylvania ‘snowmobile safety course may enroll for the Class, according to The Little Dutchmen FFA Chapter, 'who has volun teered- to sponsor the program in this area. The program is geared for youngsters 10 to 16 years, but all snowmobilers over 16 are invited to take the course. The course will consist of two, three hour sessions and will start at 7 p.m. on Oc tober 22 and conclude on Saturday morning. There are no charges for the safety course. Members of the Little Dutchman FFA urge area sriowmobilers to enroll for the course. All students who pass the course successfully will receive a certificate and a safe snowmobiler patch issued by the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Depart ment of Environmental Resources. Youngsters may qualify for their certificate by taking the Safety Course and passing the written and practical examinations.
