Montgo®ty& KIMBERTON, Pa. - The Southeast Pennsylvania 4-H WBSheep Show was held Sept. 25th, at the Kimberton Fair Grounds, Kimberton, Pa. The Southeast District is composed of the following counties: Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia. To be eligible to show an animal or participate in the blocking contest, a 4-H member must be a blue ribbon winner in a local Round-Up. Montgomery County had ten 4-H members participate on the' Regional level. In the 4-H Senior- Showmanship (age 14 or older) Montgomery Co. took a sth place with Nancy Haentze, Skippack, with her . Hampshire Yearling. While 4t' in 4-H Junior Showmanship v ~ (under age 14) Robert Blum of Harleysville placed 4th with his Suffolk Yearling. In the last catagory for First Year Showmanship, Julie Miller, Harleysville, received a sth place green ribbon exhibiting her Hampshire lamb. The Hampshire Yearling Ewe catagory found Nancy Haentze taking second and third place honors with her sheep. Next to be judged were Montgomery - County 4-H members who participated in the Suffolk Ewe lamb catagory. Again Irene Landis received a sth place green ribbon. Robert Blum was the next winner for Montgomery County with his Suffolk Yearling Ewe also placing sth. In the Commercial Ewe Lamb class, Juliet Kagno, Lafayette Hill, placed 3rd with a white ribbon. In the Commercial Aged Ewe class, Nancy Haentze, showing a Corriedale Ewe, won a blue ribbon and a 4th place yellow ribbon went to Kit Jones, Limerick, with a Hampshire Ewe. When champions of the Commercial Class were judged, Nancy Haentze received the Reserve Champion rosette. Something new this year was a Pair Class. Exhibitors could show any two sheep of the same breed that Bernviile, PA 215-488-1510 had received blue ribbons as a pair. In this class Nancy Haentze showed a pair of Hampshire Yearlings to place 4th with a yellow ribbon. WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently an nounced lower interest rates when financing terms call for one year or less under the Commodity Credit Cor poration (CCC) Export Credit Sales Program. The interest rates are being reduced one-half per cent for credit terms of one year under the program and one per cent for credit terms of six months.
