Thirty members, two
visitors, and one child were

The Ways and Means
Committee is planning a bus
trip to Philadelphia on
November 4. Those in

On October 1, Mr. and Mrs.
Irwin Gtnder, Kathryn Erb,
and Kathryn Heisey will sell
apples at Park City for the
Heart Fund.

held its meeting at the home
of Mrs. Roger Wagner, Oley
Rl, on September 21 at 8
p.m. Sixteen members and
one guest attended.
Donations of used bed sheets
are needed to make cancer
pads for Berks Heim.
The group will purchase
Christmas wrapping paper
for the Hamburg State
School.
Fourteen members
planned to go to the county
convention on October 2 at
the Berks Ag Center,
Leesport Rl. The women
were urged to wear Bicen
tennial dresses and to bring
articles for the bazaar with
prices on the items.
The members of Group 7
invited Society 6 to help
celebrate their 10th an
niversary on October 19 at 8
p,m. at the Conrad Weiser
School. The women planning
to go to the event will meet at
the Oley Legion at 7 p.m.
The October 12 meeting
will be held at the home of
Mrs. Abraham Keller, Oley
Rl at 8 p.m.

Christmas presents, Blue
Birds, Amityvillc, for group
projects or trips, St Paul’s
United Church of Christ,
Amityvillc, for use of their
camp grounds
Rians were also discussed
for a hoagie sale to be held

the October meeting

KENNETT SQUARE -
There are still openings m
two horticultural short
courses being offered this
fall at Longwood Gardens,,
Kennett Square, Pa. The
evening class in “Ferns for
the Home,” which will meet
from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. on
October 28 and November 4,
has room for more
registrants. Both morning
and evening classes in
“Terrariums,” one meeting
from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. and
the other from 7:30 to 9:00
p.m. on November 11 and 18,
have openings also.
“Ferns for the Home” will
be taught by Rolfe W. Smith
and “Terrariums” by Rolfe
W. Smith. Registration fee
for the fem course is $lO and
for the terrarium course,
$2O.
