A Public Sale of farm
machinery and old tools was
held Sept. 4 by Mrs. Bill
Humpton 3 miles east of
Cochranville in Chester Co.,
Pa. with a good crowd.
Some items sold were:

Drawn Potato Plow $3O and
Conestoga Wagon Jack $3O.
Leon Kurtz and Leroy
Zook were the auctioneers.
A Public Sale of hotel
furnishings and antiques
were sold Aug. 31 by Widow
Brown’s Inn at Wescoeville,
Pa. It was a very good sale.
Prices received were:
Pine Dutch Cupboard $B9O,
Oak wardrobe $650, Tavern
Table $325, and radiators to
$35 each.
Two large Dairy Sales yere
held Aug. 27 and Sept. 3 at
Shady Lane Dairy Sales with
221 head sold. The owner is
Glenn Fite of Quarryville
No. 2, Pa.
The top purebred cow sold
for $2BOO and the low cow
' sold for $290. The top priced
fresh cow brought $1390 with
the top springing cow
bringing $l2OO.
Fresh and close cows were
in demand. The sales were
well attended with active
bidding.

$4,600 per acre. The total

mushrooms
HARRISBURG - Penn
sylvania led all states in the
production of mushrooms
with a record total nearly 180
million pounds. The value of
sales for the fresh market
mushrooms for the 1975-1976
season was $45 million
compared to $33 million for
the 1974-1975 season. The
value of sales for the
processed mushrooms for
the 1975-1976 season was
$60.3 million compared to
$45.9 million for the 1974-1975
season.
Production of mushrooms
previous crop year. Penn-
sylvania continues to
dominate production with 58
per cent of the Nation’s total.
During the 1974-1975 crop
year Pennsylvania produced
60 per cent of the U.S.
mushroom production.
