Novel nursery idea successful
No, Mother Nature didn’t come up with this novel
idea of growing ornamental plants in containers
hanging from wires suspended between trees. It’s
a new approach conceived by Miles Fry, nationally
known nurseryman in northern Lancaster County,
near Ephrata. This is the first year the idea has
been tried, and so far all has gone well. Close to 200
visitors recently found the display of special in
terest while touring the Miles Nursery on a field
day. It was attended by specialists from Penn State
and nurserymen from several states, as well as the
immediate area.
The ambulance was first used in 1792 whenßaron
Dominique Jean Larrey devised a specially built vehicle
to carry wounded men from the battlefield Larrey was
Napoleon’s personal surgeon.
