63 animals at Adams Co. 4-H Dairy Roundup
SOUTH MOUNTAIN - A
total of 63 dairy animals
were paraded before the
Judges at the Adams County
4-H Dairy Round-up held
Friday, Aug. 6, at the South
Mountain Fairgrounds. Alan
Bair, County Agent for dairy
in Lancaster County placed
the animals on the basis of
type. Blue, red, or white
ribbons were awarded ac
cording to the Danish
System of judging. Fitting
and showmanship was
judged by Mrs. SalUe Bair.
Forty-three Holstems were
shown. Curtis Rodgers,
Gettysburg R 6 showed the
Junior Champion, a Senior
calf. The Reserve Junior
Champion was a Junior Calf
shown by Joyce Zepp, New
Oxford, R 2. The Senior
Champion and Grand
Champion was an aged cow
shown by Christine Gift,
Littlestown R 2. The Reserve
Senior Champion and
Reserve Grand Champion
honors were won by Robin
Ridinger, Biglerville R 2,
with her three-year-old cow.

launching, and a fashion
show. Club plagues and
grand champion ribbons
were presented at an
evening award program
after which all in attendance
were invited to wrap up the
night in the familiar hoe
down style.
