LEBANON Activities
for the Lebanon Area Fair
begin tomorrow (Sunday) at
the fairgrounds, located two
miles south of the Lebanon
Plaza at the junction of
Cornwall and Evergreen
Roads.
A ham barbecue kicks off
the Summer tradition, with
the first servings being
ready for consumption by
11:30 a.m. Also slated for the
afternoon program is a

Washington Band and the
flag raising' ceremony.
Except for the tractor and
horse pulling contests, ad
mission to the Fair is free.
There is, however, a $1
parking fee for Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday and
Friday. Free bus service will
be made available from
Lebanon Tuesday through
Friday between the hours of
10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
AUGUST 9-14
Ford Garden Tractors & Equip.
Ford Farm Tractors & Equip.
Tractor pulls, which have
grown dramatically in
popularity over the last
several years, will be
featured on Monday,
Tuesday, and Friday nights.
On Monday and Tuesday
night it’ll be Lebanon
Countians competing for the
trophies, with garden
tractors being featured on
the second day. A state
sanctioned Class A tractor
pull will be held on Friday
night. All pulls will begin at 7
p.m. and a charge of $2 will
be made at the gate for all
but the garden tractor pulls.
Mechanical horsepower
will be replaced by the ‘ ‘Real
McCoy” on Wednesday night
during a horse pulling
contest, beginning at 7 p.m.
Admission is $2 per adult.
Another attraction for
Wednesday - “Senior
Citizens Day” will be
bingo games. They’ll be
going on morning and af
ternoon. Meanwhile, youths
from 4-H and FFA will be
competing in tractor driving
contests, beginning at 1 p.m.
On Thursday there’s a 4-H
Horse and Pony Show, a
chicken barbecue, a 4-H

talent contest, and square
dancing.
With livestock shows
scheduled throughout the
middle of the week, this part
of the Fair will come to a
climax on Saturday when 4-
H’ers will put their market
hogs up foi sale and the
South Central Championship
Holstein Show gets un
derway.
The youth divisions of the
dairy shows begin Tuesday
at 9 a.m., with the open show
slated to begin 48 hours later.
A 4-H and FFA livestock
judging contest begins at 10
a.m., Tuesday, and young
dairy judges will test their
skills a day later.
The numerous exhibits to
the Fair will be available for
inspection Monday morning,
at which time they will also
be judged. Buildings open at
7 a.m. Following is a
schedule of all of the events
