The Cumberland County 4-
H Baby Beef Club met July
19 at the home of Tim Pot
teiger, president,
Mechanicsburg RB.
After the reading of the
minutes, the leaders com
mented on the coming fairs.
Mr. Duane Dunca, the
county agent, gave the
schedule of events for
Shippensburg and Carlisle
fairs.
Under old business, the
club was informed the
Lancaster Baby Beef Club
was invited to one of the
clubs monthly meetings.
Also, we were reminded of
the club picnic on August 22. -
The club was also told of the
exchange trip 4-Her’s from
Minnesota would be here
during Shippensburg Fair,
July 26-31.
Under new business, the
club voted to have a peanut
sale this fall.

recently met at the home of
Mrs. John Shirk, Paradise.
After committee reports, the
program consisted of a book
review on The Fragrance of
Beauty. The review was
given by Mrs. Henry Yohn.
The two main thoughts of
the book were that of “inner
beauty,” or of Christ living
within an individual, and the
second was of “outer
beauty” or appearance.
-There will be no August
meeting, because of the
County Picnic at the
Brethren Village, Neffsville,
at 12 p.m. The meal is a
covered dish luncheon.
A bus trip is planned for
Society 7 on August 17. The
rain date is August 24. The
meeting place will be the
Presbyterian Church, „
Paradise, at 9:30 a.m.
Places of interest will be
the Pa. Dutch Information
Center where a film will be
shown, and a tour of Landis
Valley Museum, where lunch
will be served at 12:30 p.m.
The group will then move on
to Wheatland and Rock
Ford. Those desiring to go
should contact Mrs. Betty
Wenger at 687-7877.

will be held on the usual date

On Monday evening, July
19th, Society 29 took a step
back in time to an in»
century community --
members and guests took a
candlelight tour through
elegant Donegal Mills
Plantation.
After partaking of refresh
ments, the meeting was held
in the three story brick mill.
Guests were members of
Society 16 and county of
ficers.
.The president, Mrs.
Gerald Erb, reminded the
group that the county picnic
will be held August 4th, at
Neffsville Village
home. August is vacation
month! Our next meeting
will be in September.
